Hall of Honor
Steve Thonn was three-sport athlete who experienced success in all three sports in his time with the Crusaders. As a four-year starter at receiver for the football team, Thonn earned All-American honors and also earned All-CCIW First Team and CCIW Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors as a senior in 1983. Overall, Thonn was a three-time All-CCIW recipient in football and finished his career with 159 receptions, 2807 receiving yards, and 27 touchdown receptions.
As a baseball player, Thonn was a 1982 All-CCIW First Team selection, hitting .396 overall (a Wheaton record at the time) and .418 in conference. In 1983, Steve hit .305 and again earned All-CCIW First Team honors.
On the basketball court, Thonn scored 161 points with 58 rebounds and 151 assists in 52 career varsity games from 1979-83 under Coach Bill Harbeck. After his Wheaton athletic career, Steve went on to play professional football in the Arena Football League from 1988-1993.
