Three-time conference champion Scott Torppey, class of 1982, never lost to a CCIW opponent in any dual meets or tournaments. Despite missing the last half of his sophomore season due to knee surgery, he won 11 tournament championships in an 89-19 win-loss career. He qualified twice for the NCAAs at 142 pounds and took first, second and third in three Wheaton Invitationals. Scott was the Co-Outstanding Wrestler at the 1981 CCIW meet and co-captain and Jim Elliot Award holder for the Crusaders as a senior.
