Bill Harbeck played basketball at Wheaton from 1973-77, starting at guard for three seasons. Harbeck was named to the All-CCIW Honorable Mention team as a junior, and the All-CCIW First Yeam as a senior. He averaged 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and five assists per game as a sophomore; 15.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game as a junior; and 17.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game as a senior. At the time of his graduation, Harbeck was 11th all-time at Wheaton in career scoring with 1,458 points and second all-time in career assists with 401. Harbeck returned to Wheaton six years after his graduation as head basketball coach from 1983-1991. Under Harbeck’s direction, Wheaton won 86 and lost 119 games, including a 17-9 season and a fourth-place tie in the CCIW in 1987-88.
