Hall of Honor
Randy Pfund played basketball from 1971-74 for his father, Lee, who coached at Wheaton from 1951-74 and is a member of the Wheaton Hall of Honor. He was named to the All-CCIW First Team as a sophomore and senior and was Honorable Mention as a junior. In 1973, he set Wheaton’s single-game assist record with 15 against Illinois Benedictine and also scored 40 point against Elmhurst that season. Pfund scored 617 points in 1973-74 when he averaged 24.7 points per game. He finished his career with 1,710 career points and 478 assists, both of which rank high on the Wheaton all-time lists. Randy also played baseball in 1972.
Since his time at Wheaton, Pfund has spent time in the NBA as an assistant and head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers and as general manager for the Miami Heat.
