Cy Faulkner wrestled for Wheaton from 1964-67, compiling a 75-20 record. As a freshman, Cy was 17-5, and won the Western Illinois Quadrangular championship, placed second at the Great Lakes Invitational, and third at the Knox College and Wheaton Invitationals. Cy led Wheaton in points and matched wrestled as a sophomore, winning 18 of 22. He won his division at the Wabash Invitational and placed third again at the Knox and Wheaton Invitationals. As a junior, Cy was 21-5 and placed third at the Wheaton Invitational and sixth at the NCAA Championships, winning All-America honors. Faulkner also wrestled at the national tournament as a senior but did not place in the top eight. He posted a 19-8 record, served as team co-captain, and placed third at the Wheaton Invitational for the fourth-consecutive season.
