Hall of Honor
Kamille Hawkinson competed on the track and cross country teams during her stellar athletic career at Wheaton. She established a then school-record of 17:33.3 in the 5,000-meter run. She qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in both cross country and track on multiple occasions.
One lesson that Hawkinson remembers strongly from her time at Wheaton comes from Coach ‘Bubba’ Church. “Every day we heard the words of Coach ‘Bubba’ Church, waving his hands, grinning and repeating the phrase ‘God is good.’ Despite how you ran that day or what was going on in your life, those were the words. I learned not to doubt God despite my circumstances or performance.”
