Hanover Park, Illinois - The Thunder women's tennis team opened its spring schedule on Saturday night with a match against Calvin College. The Thunder topped the Knights 8-1 as Wheaton improves to 10-1 on the season.

Sara Magnuson won a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles against Calvin's Madeline Brower and Miranda Kay (PICTURED ABOVE) picked up a 6-1, 7-6 victory against Anna Asfour at No. 3 singles. Emma Westwick topped Lark Foote 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Claire Browning was a 6-3, 7-6 victor against Alexis Bonner at No. 5 singles and freshman Emme Lindquist was a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 winner at No. 6 singles.

Wheaton won all three doubles matches on Saturday. Browning and Katie Park teamed for an 8-4 victory against Leah Newhof and Brouwer at No. 1 doubles. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Kay amd Magnuson won an 8-5 match against Asfour and Foote. Westwick and Nicole Freeman won an 8-5 decision over Bonner and Statema at No. 3 doubles.

Wheaton returns to action March 9 for a match against Coe College in Orlando, Florida as part of the team's Spring Break trip.
