Women's Tennis defeats Carroll University to earn perfect conference record and unbeaten fall season

Waukesha, Wis. -- One week after securing the CCIW regular season title with a victory at Augustana College, the Wheaton women's tennis team hit the road again for its final match of the 2026 fall season. The Thunder traveled to Carroll University this morning, and Wheaton maintained its flawless all-time record against today's opponent with a 5-2 win. Saturday's result gives Wheaton a 9-0 record for the fall schedule and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference matches. The Thunder claimed the program's first undefeated fall season since 2010 and first unbeaten CCIW slate since 2016 with today's victory.

The visitors won the contest despite dropping the doubles point, as Carroll logged victories at #1 and #3 doubles this morning. Wheaton's #2 pairing of Ella Malone and Molly Ramsey captured a 6-2 success in their matchup.

The Thunder rebounded in the singles program with a resounding 5-1 split. Karis Kim lost a tiebreak in the first frame of her #1 singles battle, but she answered back with set wins of 6-3 and 6-2 to earn a point for Wheaton. Tatum Thurstone also fought back from a first-set loss to claim her #2 singles duel with a hard-won 7-6 [7-5] tiebreak win and a 6-3 third-frame victory. Molly Ramsey shook off a lopsided 6-1 defeat in the opening frame of her #3 match to claim the next two sets with 6-4 wins. Malone and Mia Luo made quick work of their #5 and #6 singles opponents with respective victories of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0 to punctuate the Thunder's team win.

The team will now head into the winter intermission and can reflect on and celebrate its highly successful fall slate before it returns to action in the spring semester.
