Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton College women's tennis team played its first match of the spring season on Saturday as the Thunder shut out Calvin College, 9-0. Wheaton improves to 12-1 on the year.

Emily Jones was a winner at No. 1 singles for the Thunder and Miranda Kay picked up the win at No. 2 singles. Kirstie White earned the victory at No. 3 singles and Sara Magnuson was a winner at No. 4 singles. Emma Westwick picked up the victory at No. 5 singles and Claire Browning earned the win at No. 6 singles.

Jones and White teamed for a victory at No. 1 doubles, Kay and Magnuson paired for a win at No. 2 doubles and the No. 3 doubles team of Anna-Katherine Barrett and Browning earned a victory for the hosts.

The Thunder will return to action on March when the squad faces Minnesota State-Mankato in its first match of its Spring Break trip to Orlando, Florida.
