Kenosha, Wis. - The Wheaton women's tennis team picked up its sixth consecutive victory on Friday afternoon with a 6-3 win at conference rival Carthage (3-3, 2-2 CCIW). Today's victory improves Wheaton to 9-1 on the season and 6-0 in CCIW play.

Carthage gained a 2-1 lead in the match score as the Lady Reds won two of the three doubles matches. Sara Magnuson and Miranda Kay earned Wheaton's lone win in doubles with an 8-3 victory at number-two doubles. 

Wheaton won five of the six singles matches today. Junior Katie Park was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at number-one singles against Carthage's Casey Frommer. Miranda Kay earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at number-three singles against Angelica Ammanouil. Thunder junior Kirstie White rallied to defeat Carthage's Kristen Kalinka 0-6, 6-0, 6-4 at number-four singles. Sara Magnuson shut out Carthage's Eliza Barter 6-0, 6-0 at number-five singles. Emma Westwick was a 6-1, 6-0 winner in her matchup with Natalie Favia at number-six singles.

Wheaton will travel to Carroll University on Saturday afternoon for a 2:30 p.m. matchup with the Pioneers.
