Elmhurst, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team picked up a conference win at Elmhurst College (6-2, 3-2 CCIW) on Wednesday afternoon with a 9-0 win against the Bluejays. 

Wheaton swept through singles play as Julie Buursma was a 6-1, 6-3 winner against Elmhurst's Ava Kolman at number-one singles. Sophomore Katie Park was a 6-3, 6-2 victor against Chiara Gaudio in the match at number-two singles and Emily Jones earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at number-three singles against Elmhurst's Rachel Rettger. Sophomore Kirstie White was a 6-4, 6-1 victor in her match against Hannah Vaselaney at number-four singles. Miranda Kay earned a 6-1, 6-1 win versus Tori Liewergen in their matchup at number-five singles and freshman Sara Magnuson was a 6-1, 6-0 winner versus Camile Knapik-Balch at number-six singles.

Buursman and Park teamed up for an 8-3 victory at number-one doubles. Anna-Katherine Barrett teamed with Jones for an 8-2 victory at number-two doubles and Kay paired with Erika Nelson for an 8-1 win at number-three doubles.

Head coach Jane Nelson's squad is now 6-1 on the year and 4-0 in conference play. The Thunder will resume conference action on Saturday afternoon with a 11:00 a.m. matchup at North Park University in Chicago.
