Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team earned a 9-0 conference win at home on Thursday night against North Central College (1-2, 1-1 CCIW). Thursday's match was originally scheduled for September 17, however, it was re-scheduled for today due to rain and Thunderstorms on the previous date.

Julie Buursma picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory for the Thunder against North Central's Katie Drone at number-one singles. Wheaton sophomore
Katie Park was a 6-0, 6-0 victor at number-two singles against Miranda Grizaffi.
Emily Jones of Wheaton earned a 6-4, 6-3 win versus Kelsey Forkin of North Central at number-three singles and
Kirstie White was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at number-four singles against Clare O'Connor.
Miranda Kay picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win for the hosts against the Cardinals' Marisa Coladpietro at the fifth singles slot and freshman
Sara Magnuson earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory at number-six singles against Karissa Schroeder.
The tandem of Buursma and Park earned an 8-0 win at number-one doubles against North Central's team of O'Connor and Forkin. Jones and
Anna-Katherine Barrett picked up a 9-8 victory at number-two doubles against Grizaffi and Drone. The number-three doubles team of Kay and
Erika Nelson picked up an 8-0 win against Coladpietro and Schroeder.
Wheaton is now 5-1 on the year and 3-0 in CCIW play. The Thunder will return to action on September 29th with a 3:30 p.m. conference matchup at Elmhurst College.
