Decatur, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team opened conference play on Saturday with road wins at Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin. Wheaton traveled to Bloomington on Saturday morning and earned a 9-0 victory against the Titans and head coach Jane Nelson's squad earned a 9-0 win at Millikin on Saturday afternoon.

Julie Buursma won both of her matches at number-one singles and Katie Park was a winner for the day at number-two singles. Emily Jones was victorious in her matches at the number-three singles slot and Kirstie White earned two wins at number-four singles. Miranda Kay earned two wins at number-five singles and freshman Sara Magnuson picked up a pair of wins at number-six singles.

Wheaton is now 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in CCIW play. The Thunder will remain in conference play on Thursday with a 4:00 p.m. matchup at home against North Central.
