Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team returned to action on Wednesday night for the sqaud's first match since April 4. Wheaton hosted Lake Forest College (13-11) under the lights at the Wheaton tennis courts with the Thunder earning the 8-1 victory.

Wheaton's Julie Buursma was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at number-one singles tonight and freshman Katie Park picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at number-two singles. Senior Lauren Schlabach earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at number-three singles and Kirstie White was a 6-0, 6-3 winner at number-four singles. Miranda Kay was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number-five singles and Erika Nelson picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at number-six singles.

Wheaton won two of the three doubles matches against the Foresters. Park and Schlabach teamed for an 8-2 win at number-two doubles. Kay and Nelson won an 8-2 decision at number-three singles.

Wheaton is now 14-5 on the year. The Thunder will travel to University of Chicago on Saturday afternoon for a matchup with the nationally-ranked Maroons.
