Naperville, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team earned its fourth consecutive victory on Saturday with a 9-0 win at North Central. Wheaton is now 6-1 on the year, with a 4-0 record in CCIW play. North Central falls to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in league matches.

Thunder head coach Jane Nelson noted of the match, "We had to play well today and come from behind in doubles to earn those wins. Everyone played well from the top to the bottom of our lineup."

Wheaton won three tightly contested doubles matches on Saturday as the number-one doubles team of Julie Buursma and Katie Park picked up an 8-5 win. Kirstie White and Erika Nelson earned a 9-7 win at number-two doubles and Miranda Kay paired with Taylor Parrish for an 8-5 win at number-three doubles.

Buursma was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at number-one singles and Park picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win at number-two singles. White earned a 7-6, 6-1 victory at number-three singles and Kay was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at number-four singles. Nelson defeated North Central's Clare O'Connor 6-4, 6-1 at number-five singles and senior Taylor Parrish was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at number-six singles.

Wheaton will host a pair of conference matches next weekend. Illinois Wesleyan will visit the Thunder on October 3 at 5:30 p.m. and Wheaton entertains Millikin on October 4 at noon.
