Winona, Minn. - The Wheaton women's tennis team lost to nationally-ranked Carleton College on Saturday night. The Knights, ranked 24th in the most recent ITA Division III Coaches Poll, topped the Thunder 8-1.

Wheaton is now 12-5 on the year and Carleton has an 11-2 record on the season. Wheaton entered tonight's match ranked 14th in Division III's Central Region, according to the ITA and Carleton is ranked sixth in the Central Region.

Thunder sophomore Julie Buursma picked up Wheaton's lone win tonight in a 1-6, 7-5, 10-6 win at number-two singles.

Wheaton will conclude its regular season schedule on April 12 when the Thunder hosts Wartburg College at 12 p.m.
