Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team earned a 9-0 CCIW win against North Central College (5-3/2-1 CCIW) on Tuesday afternoon at the Wheaton Tennis Courts. The win improves the Thunder to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in CCIW play. Wheaton is slated to concluded the regular season portion of its fall schedule this weekend when it travels to Bloomington, Illinois to take on Millikin on Friday night and face Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday at noon.

Thunder senior Sarah Ray was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at number-one singles today and Julie Buursma earned the 6-4, 6-2 win at number-two singles. Emily Jones was a 6-3, 6-1 victor at number-three singles and Erika Nelson picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at number-four singles. Thunder junior Katherine Kaiser was a 6-4, 7-5 winner at number-five singles and freshman Anna Katherine Barrett earned a 6-3, 7-5 win at number-six singles.

Wheaton swept all three doubles matches this afternoon. Ray and Buursma picked up an 8-3 win at number-one singles, Jones and Nelson teamed for an 8-1 win at number-two singles and Katherine Kaiser paired with Taylor Parrish for an 8-3 win at number three-doubles.
