Bloomington, Ill.- The Wheaton Thunder women't tennis team defeated Augustana 9-0 on Saturday morning to claim the CCIW AQ Tournament title. It is Wheaton's sixth consecutive tournament title. The victory gives Wheaton the CCIW automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament. The field for the tournament will be announced Monday evening, May 6, at 7 PM (EST) on NCAA.com. 

Wheaton's Sarah Ray had to battle from behind to win her contest at #1-singles. Ray dropped the first set against Augustana's Kim Sawyer and claimed the second set before winning the match via a third-set tiebreaker. Sawyer was ranked #10 in the Central Region and defeated Ray in the CCIW Tournament held during the fall season.
