Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory at home on Thursday afternoon against Edgewood College. Wheaton is now 14-4 on the year, while Edgewood falls to 16-10.

Wheaton swept the top six singles matches as Sarah Ray (#1-singles); Kirsten Boyer (#2-singles); Lauren Schlabach (#3-singles); Marissa Shults (#4-singles); Julia Carey (#5-singles) and Julie Buursma (#6-singles) each earned victories. Buursma and Ray earned a win at number-one doubles, Boyer and Shults teamed to pick up the victory at number-two doubles and Schlabach paired with Erika Nelson for a win at number-three doubles.

The Thunder will return to action on May 1 when Wheaton hosts Illinois Wesleyan University in a semifinal match of the 2013 CCIW AQ Tournament that will determine the CCIW's automatic qualifier to the upcoming NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.
