Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team picked up its second consecutive win to open up the 2012-13 season, with a 9-0 victory at home against Elmhurst College on Thursday afternoon. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was postponed due to rain earlier in the day. Wheaton is now 2-0 on the season, earning a pair of conference wins. The Thunder will play two more conference matches on Saturday with CCIW action against Millikin and Carthage in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Wheaton won all six singles flights today in two sets, including victories in 11 of the 12 sets by scores of either 6-0 (four sets) or 6-1 (seven sets). Wheaton's number-one doubles team of Sarah Ray and Julie Buursma and the number-three doubles tandem of Erika Nelson and Lauren Schlabach each won their matches 8-0. The number-two doubles team of Marissa Shults and Melanie Milling earned an 8-3 victory.
