Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team hosted CCIW rival Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday night. The Thunder shut out the Titans 9-0.

Wheaton improves to 7-1 on the year and 6-0 in CCIW play. Wheaton will participate at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) at Washington University-St. Louis on Friday and Saturday. Illinois Wesleyan is now 3-4 this season wtih a 3-3 record in conference matches.

Today's win extended Wheaton's regular season CCIW win streak to 50 consecutive league matches. The last conference loss for the Thunder in a CCIW contest was a 7-2 loss to Carthage on October 11, 2003. Wednesday's match was the final CCIW match of the regular season for the Thunder. Wheaton will participate in the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship next weekend in Oak Brook, Illinois.
