Rock Island, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team was a 7-2 winner at Augustana College on Saturday morning. Today's match was delayed and moved from the Augustana campus to the Quad City Tennis Club due to weather. Wheaton's scheduled match against St. Ambrose was cancelled.

The Thunder picked up five singles victories and won two of the three doubles matches against the Vikings. Lauren Schlabach was a winner at number-three singles and number-three doubles. Freshman Julie Buursma was Wheaton's other double winner with a victory at number-six singles and number-one doubles.

The victory by head coach Jane Nelson's squad today improves Wheaton to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in CCIW action. The Thunder will return to action on September 26 when Illinois Wesleyan visits Wheaton at 4:00 PM.
