Hanover Park, Ill.- The Wheaton women's tennis team opened the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 victory over North Central.  The Thunder improved to 1-0 while the Cardinals drop to 0-1.

Junior Sarah Ray and senior Kirsten Boyer each recorded wins in singles and at number one doubles.  Freshman Julie Buursma made her Thunder debut with a singles victory as well as a doubles victory with parter Marissa Shults, who also recorded a win at doubles.  Julia Carey double dipped with wins at singles and doubles along with freshman Melanie Milling who also made her debut for the Thunder.

Wheaton will next host Elmhurst at 4 PM on Wednesday.
