Moline, Ill. - The top-seeded Wheaton women's tennis team defeated fourth-seed Augustana College, 8-1 on Friday in one of two semifinal matches at the 2012 CCIW Automatic Qualifier Tournament. Wheaton (19-2) advances to the final of the tournament on Saturday at noon when the Thunder will face second-seeded Carthage College (16-6) at the Quad City Tennis Club. Carthage defeated number-three seed Illinois Wesleyan in Friday's other semifinal.

The winner of Saturday's match will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship, which begins next weekend at various campus sites.
