The Thunder track and field teams had athletes competing at a pair of events on Friday night as competitors for Wheaton took part at Hillsdale College's Gina Relays
(RESULTS) and Benedictine University's Twilight Invitational
(RESULTS).
At the Gina Relays, junior
Sarah Daly (PICTURED LEFT) finished seventh in the women's 10,000-meters run with a time of 36:25.44. Daly's time is the 17th-fastest effort in the event in Division III this year and is the second-fastest time in school history. Junior
Parker Thompson also competed at Hillsdale, finishing 17th in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:52.10. Thompson's run is the 12th-fastest time in Division III this year. On Saturday,
Luke Vance ran in the finals of the men's 800-meter run with a fifth-place performance in 1:52.17 to post the 10th-fastest time in Division III this year.
The Thunder women's team finished third in a 15-team field at Benedictine. The Thunder men were fourth out of 16 teams at the Benedictine Twilight Meet.
North Central won the women's standings with 174 points, Loyola-Chicago scored 117 points in second place, Wheaton finished third in 84 points, Olivet Nazarene was fourth with 82 points and Wisconsin-Parkside finished fifth with 44 points.
Annie Shults won the women's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:48.89. Senior
Jaime Orewiler posted a time of 2:16.22 to finish first in the women's 800-meter run.
Rosalie Dillon took second in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.03-seconds and
Lauren Caporaso recorded an effort of 1:00.90 in the 400-meter dash to finish second.
Jennifer Anderson posted a time of 11:30.12 to finish second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Abby Bullmore took third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:54.40.
Shannon McNeil took third in the high jump with a height of 1.52-meters and she was fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.01-seconds.
The North Central men's program also finished at Benedictine, with 140 points. Olivet Nazarene scored 84 points in second place, Concordia-Chicago took this place with 79 points, Wheaton scored 62 points in fourth place and Aurora University was fifth with 54 points.
The Thunder men's 4X100 meter relay team of
Josiah Hulsey,
Adam Mosbrucker,
Luke Mentzer and
Kyle Williams won the event with a time of 43.52-seconds.
Mitchell Schoen (PICTURED RIGHT) won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:59.27.
Jacob Goertz was the top collegiate runner with a time of 8:44.40 in the 3,000-meter run.
Ben Dagg posted a time of 58.26-seconds to finish third in the 400-meter hurdles and
Justin McCrary took third in the men's triple jump with a leap of 12.97 meters. Hulsey ran the 100-meter dash in 11.08-seconds to finish fourth.
Nathan Knautz took fourth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.48.
