Bloomington, Ill. - For the fourth-consecutive year, the Wheaton College women's tennis team won the CCIW Automatic Qualifier Tournament with a 9-0 victory over Augustana College on Saturday.

The No. 1-seed Thunder improved to 20-2 and earned the CCIW's automatic berth into the NCAA National Tournament. In addition, Wheaton has won six-straight regular season CCIW Championships and 16 overall. The No. 2-seed Vikings fell to 20-9 on the year.

Earlier in the fall, Wheaton swept Augustana 9-0 in their season opener on September 4. Saturday saw the same result, with the Thunder getting singles victories from Elizabeth Worsowicz, Sara Federschmidt, Lindsey Hallett, Sarah Ray, Kirsten Boyer and Marissa Shults.

Over the last two days, Wheaton won all 18 of its singles and doubles matches in  the qualifier tournament. They now advance to the NCAA Team Regionals that will take place from May 12-14. The NCAA will announce tournament pairings on Monday afternoon at this website
