Wheaton, Ill. - For the 14th-straight year, the Wheaton College women's swim team won the CCIW Championships team title while the Wheaton men took second place after the final day of competition on Saturday.
On the women's side, the Thunder used great team depth to compile a winning team score of 892.5. They were followed in order by Carthage College (830), Illinois Wesleyan University (779), Augustana College (289.5), North Central College (288), Millikin University (205) and Rose-Hulman Institute (127).
The Wheaton women's team title was also its 19th overall in school history.
Carlie Herich highlighted day three by winning the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 17:25.75, which was a mark that qualified for the NCAA in 2010. Teammate
Lauren Jurgens finished right behind her with a time of 17:36.46 (NCAA B cut), and
Caroline Dirks took the third spot in 17:40.01.
Moire Yue also snagged a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (52.15), which was a mark that qualified for the NCAA in 2010. The 400-yard freestyle relay team (Yue,
Kelsey Craggett,
Ali Offerdahl,
Lauren Jurgens) were runners-up with an NCAA B cut time of 3:32.27.
A total of seven Thunder women's swimmers earned All-Conference recognition -

On the men's side, Carthage won its fourth title in-a-row with a score of 956. Wheaton was second with 858.5 points, followed by Rose-Hulman Institute (571), Illinois Wesleyan University (448), Augustana College (246.5), Millikin University (150) and North Central College (123).
A pair of second-place finishes were tallied by both
AJ Provonsha in the 100-yard freestyle (46.82) and
Preston Conger in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.19). The 400-yard freestyle relay team (Provonsha,
Matthew Gallagher,
Tim Walker,
Dan Nahigian) was also second in a time of 3:06.61.

Day 2 Recap
On the men's side, Carthage College took the lead with a team score of 615. Wheaton is closely behind with 601 points, followed by Rose-Hulman Institute (426), Illinois Wesleyan University (305), Augustana College (185), Millikin University (112) and North Central College (97).
Wheaton's men got a big first-place finish from the 200-yard medley relay (
Wills Francis,
Preston Conger,
Matthew Gallagher,
Tim Walker), whose mark of 1:32.50 met an NCAA selection time from 2010.
The Thunder also took second place in a trio of individual races. Gallagher was runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly (50.86), Conger snagged second in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.40), as did
AJ Provonsha in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.47).
On the women's side, Wheaton recaptured the lead thanks strong team depth with a score of 582.5. First-day leader Illinois Wesleyan is next with 563 points, trailed by Carthage (553), Augustana (231.5), North Central (214), Millikin (149) and Rose-Hulman (101).
The Thunder women picked up a trio of second-place finishes on the day.
Moire Yue was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.83, which would have been an NCAA selection time from 2010. Teammate
Jamie Walitsch swam an NCAA B cut time of 4:33.81 in the 400-yard IM to also take second. The 200-yard medley relay (
Emma Rogers,
Caroline Hannema, Yue,
Kelsey Craggett) was also second in 1:48.57.
On the men's side, Wheaton leads with a team score of 279. They are followed in order by Carthage College (269), Rose-Hulman Institute (203), Illinois Wesleyan University (148), Augustana College (98), Millikin University (54) and North Central College (40).

AJ Provonsha) with an NCAA B cut time of 3:25.52.
Pronvonsha also earned a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in 21.43. The 200-yard freestyle relay team (Provonsha, Gallagher,
Tim Walker,
Daniel Nahigian) was runner-up with a time of in 1:24.09.
On the women's side, Illinois Wesleyan is the first day leader with 271 points. Close behind are Wheaton (247), Carthage (242), Augustana (148), North Central (92), Millikin (74) and Rose-Hulman (71).
Carlie Herich collected a victory for the Thunder women in the 500-yard freestyle in an NCAA B cut time of 5:03.10, beating out second place by only 0.21 seconds.
Moire Yue swam strong in the 50-yard freestyle, taking second in 23.69, which was an NCAA qualifying time last year. Also finishing in second place was the 200-yard freestyle relay team (

Ali Offerdahl) in an NCAA B cut time of 1:36.42.
