Chicago, Ill. - The Wheaton College volleyball team came back from a 2-0 set deficit to tie the match, but the hosts University of Chicago pulled out the 3-2 victory on Tuesday.
The Thunder fall to 11-7 overall while the No. 19-ranked Maroons improve to 17-4.
Chicago got the upper hand early, winning the first two sets by scores of 25-21 and 25-20. But Wheaton came right back with two-straight 25-20 set wins. In the decisive fifth set, the Maroons eked out the 15-12 decision with a service ace on the final point.

Hannah Velling paced the Thunder offense with 14 kills while middle hitter
Emily Buyse added nine kills and 3.5 blocks. Setter
Jenna McCallister filled up the scoresheet with 39 assists, 18 digs, four aces and 2.5 blocks. Libero

The Thunder return for their Homecoming match at 5:00 PM on Friday against Carthage College.
