Bloomington, Ill. – The Wheaton College women's volleyball team had its four-match win streak snapped by Illinois Wesleyan University on Tuesday.
The Titans kicked off the CCIW conference schedule with a 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23 victory over the Thunder. Wheaton's third set victory broke a streak of 20-straight sets for Illinois Wesleyan over the course of its last seven matches this season.
IWU improved to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the CCIW while Wheaton fell to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Hannah Velling was the pacesetter on offense for the Thunder, scoring 14 kills with only two errors for a hitting percentage of .350.
Jenna McCallister compiled 31 assists while
Ashlie Pace collected 20 digs.
Wheaton continues its conference slate with a 7:00 PM home game on Thursday vs. Elmhurst College.
