Beloit, Wis. - The Thunder volleyball team fell in two matches in a tri-match at Beloit College on Friday night. Beloit defeated Wheaton 3-1 and Judson College topped the Thunder, 3-2.
Beloit defeated the Thunder, 3-1 (25-14, 20-25, 25-14, 25-18).
Hannah Velling led Wheaton with 12 kills,
Cassie Murphy made eight kills and
Paige Narr tallied six kills.
Ashlie Pace had a team-best 32 digs.
Jenna McCallister distributed 28 assists.
Judson edged the Thunder 3-2 in the second match of the night. Wheaton won the first set 25-23 and Judson won the second set 25-20. Wheaton took a 2-1 lead by winning the third set 25-19 and Judson tied the match at 2-2 with a 25-15 victory in the fourth set. In the decisive fifth set, Wheaton trailed 11-9 and put together a rally to take a 15-14 lead as the Thunder served for match point. However, Judson went on to score three consecutive points to earn a 17-15 victory in the final set.
In the match versus Judson, four players led the Thunder with 10 kills each as

Abby Huebner each collected 10 kills. McCallister had 26 assists and
Cassie Murphy distributed 20 assists.
