Ty Bova garners Second Team All-America accolade at 2026 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships

Birmingham, Ala. -- On the back of his recent CCIW title win and All-Region recognition in the men's high jump, Wheaton sophomore Ty Bova traveled to Birmingham on Saturday for his first appearance at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Ohio native finished in a tie for 12th place in the 20-man high jump competition this afternoon to collect his second career USTFCCCA All-America honor following his national recognition at last May's NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships. With his performance today, Bova becomes the 15th men's track & field athlete in program history to earn multiple All-America awards in his collegiate career.

The second-year leaper cleared Saturday's starting bar at a height of 1.98 meters (6'6'') on his first attempt but did not manage to progress any further, leaving him in a two-way tie for 12th along with a competitor from UW-River Falls who also surpassed the 1.98 measure on his first try. Bova's season-best mark of 2.06 meters (6'9") that he set at the CCIW Championships two weeks ago ranks second all-time in Thunder program history, while his final achieved count of 1.98 meters today ranks ninth on the same list.

Bova's All-America accolade as a Top-16 finisher at this year's NCAA meet brings the Wheaton men's track & field team's indoor schedule to a close. The Thunder squad will begin their outdoor season two weeks from now at North Central's First Chance Invite.
