Thunder track and field teams compete at North Central's F. Lee Slick Invitational

Naperville, Ill. – The Wheaton Thunder men's and women's track and field team's competed at North Central College's F. Lee Slick Invitational on Friday evening. Today's event was the final meet ahead of next weekend's CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Bloomington, Illinois.
On the men's side, Isaac Bledsoe tied Wheaton's school record in the men's indoor long jump with a leap of 7.09-meters (23' 3.25") that tied the school record that was set in 2015. Bledsoe placed second in the 22-man field in the long jump. The junior also finished second in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.72-meters that that placed him second in the 65-man field.

Michael Osielski posted a time of 1:58.13 to win the men's 800-meter run that featured 35 runners.

Sophomore high jumper Ty Bova finished second in the men's high jump. He recorded a height of 2.00-meters (6' 6-3/4") to earn his place. David Harvin finished fifth in the finals of the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.69-meters.

Grace Crowder finished second in a 16-woman field in the women's high jump with an effort of 1.65-meters (5' 5"). Sophomore Allison Roozeboom finished third in the women's shot put with a heave of 11.88-meters (38' 11-3/4") in the 26-woman field.

Senior Lily Lebo was the top collegiate runner in the women's 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:57.23 that was second overall, behind only one of two unattached runners in the field. Freshman Clodagh O'Bryant placed third in the one-mile run with a time of 5:15.82, and Laura Prothero was seventh in 5:29.58. Freshman Allie Woolever placed third in the 32-woman field of 800-meter run with a time of 2:25.79.

Junior Heidi Krekelberg had the third-fastest time (7.79) of 38 competitors in the prelims of the 60-meter dash and her time of 7.82-seconds in the finals of the event put her in second place. Sophomore Sally Elsen finished fifth (9.30) in the prelims of the 30-woman 60-meter hurdles. She placed fourth in the finals with a time of 9.27-meters.
