Naperville, Ill. - The Wheaton volleyball team took the quick trip to conference rival North Central College (6-3, 2-0 CCIW) on Friday evening. The Cardinals defeated Wheaton 3-1 in the league matchup. The Cardinals won the first set 25-22 and the hosts won the second set 25-21. Wheaton won a lengthy third set 27-25, however, the Cardinals closed out the match by winning the fourth set 25-18.
In tonight's match against the Cardinals,
Emerson Traweek and
Caroline Capps each led the Thuner with seven kills.
Abby Lawson and
Jordan Benford each contributed six kills. Freshman setter
Davis Whitehead had 31 assists, and Traweek had four service aces in the match.
Libero
Allie High recorded 24 digs and Traweek added 15.
Faith Bailey had seven total blocks and Capps added five.
Wheaton is now 7-6 on the season, with an 0-2 record in CCIW play. Wheaton remains in conference play on Saturday afternoon as Elmhurst University visits King Arena for a match at 3:00 p.m.Â
