Kenosha, Wis. – After day one of the CCIW Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Wheaton men's track & field team already has a conference champion in the pole vault, and three other top-8 finalists. With only five events completed, the Thunder stand in fifth place overall with 27 points. Currently, Augustana leads the championship meet with 41 points.
 
Taking the victory in the pole vault was Wheaton's David Bradley (PICTURED ABOVE), who had a top vault of 4.56 meters.
 
A pair of Wheaton athletes took home third-place finishes in their respective events: Isaiah Clausen finished third in the long jump with a leap of 6.78 meters, while Kevin Riley won the 5000-meter run in 15:16.85.
 
And the Thunder relay squad consisting of Thomas Everest, Elliot Kim, Sam Elsen, and Daniel Morken placed fourth in the 4000-meter distance medley relay.
 
In the men's heptathlon, Dolan Bair currently stands in fifth place (2,075 points) with four of the seven events completed.
 
The conference indoor championship is being held at Carthage College and will conclude tomorrow.
