Naperville, Ill. – The Wheaton women's track and field team competed at North Central's Pat Heenan Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder placed sixth in the nine-team field, with an overall score of 29 points. Winning the meet was the University of Chicago, with 169.33 points.
Susannah Bennett (
PICTURED ABOVE) highlighted the meet for Wheaton with a victory in the 5000-meter run. She finished in 18:12.41. Teammate
Hope Clark also scored for the Thunder in that event, finishing fifth in 19:05.61.
Amy Keane (
PICTURED RIGHT) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.31 seconds. She also contributed to Wheaton's 4x400 squad that earned sixth.
Olivia Eisses,
Alyssa Milligan, and Alli Spitzer were the other runners who helped the Thunder finish in 4:18.01.
In the 400-meter run,
Abi Gum earned a sixth-place finish thanks to a time of 1:01.25. And in the shot put,
Anna Cressman finished sixth with a toss of 12.13 meters.
The Thunder women will head back to Naperville next weekend for North Central's "F. Lee Slick" Invitational. That meet is scheduled for Friday, February 18.
