Women's tennis blanks Saint Mary's (Ind.) 9-0 to open Florida trip

GAME STATS Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Thunder women's tennis team kicked off its annual spring trip to Florida on Wednesday night with a 9-0 victory over Saint Mary's (Ind.). With the victory, Wheaton improves to 12-1 on the season while the Belles fall to 5-2 overall. Wheaton will continue its trip on Thursday with against Millsaps College and Friday against Southern Indiana.

Wheaton swept doubles action with Emme Lindquist and Bethany Hoogerheide earning the first victory with an 8-3 win at number three doubles. Nicole Freeman and Claire Dibble also won 8-3 at number two doubles and Claire Browning and Abygale Ahn winning 8-6 at number one doubles.

Lindquist also claimed the singles victory, winning 6-2, 6-1 at number two singles. Ahn was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number five singles and Hoogerheide won 7-5 and 6-4 at number six singles. Browning was a 6-2, 6-4 victory at number one singles and Wheaton finished off the sweep with Freeman's 6-4, 6-2 win at number four singles and Dibble's 6-4, 7-6 win at number three singles.
