GAME STATS Decorah, Iowa - The Wheaton women's tennis team opened its 2019-20 season with at 7-2 victory at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The Thunder will return to action at home on September 4 against Judson University.

Wheaton opened action today against the Norse by winning two of the three doubles matchups. The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of Claire Dibble and Nicole Freeman picked up an 8-5 victory against the Luther tandem of Lexi Hastings and Kelsey Kruse. Wheaton won at No. 3 doubles as Bethany Hoogerheide and Emme  Lindquist defeated the Norse team of Aurora Schossow and Anna Spencer. Wheaton led Luther 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles action.

Claire Browning was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at No. 1 singles against Luther's Devon Bourget. Lindquist was a 6-1, 6-0 winner against Kelsey Kruse and Freeman topped Luther's Lexi Hastings 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Abygale Ahn was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against Anna Spencer of the Norse at No. 5 singles. Hoogerheide was a 6-1, 6-1 winner against Schossow at No. 6 singles.
