GAME STATS Orlando, Fla. - The Thunder women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match against Aquinas College on Wednesday afternoon. The loss moves Wheaton's record to 10-2 overall ahead of their next match against Austin College on Thursday. Wheaton picked up two singles victories and also claimed one of the doubles matches.
Claire Browning was victorious at No. 3 singles, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
Nicole Freeman was a 6-3, 6-1 winner at No. 5 singles over Aquinas' Bailey Chovinard.
At No. 3 doubles,
Emma Westwick and
Bethany Hoogerheide pulled out a tightly contested match, winning 8-7 (7-1) over Chovinard and Darci Terharr.
Wheaton will play two more matches on its spring trip to Orlando, facing Austin on Thursday and Lees-McRae College on Friday morning.
