Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team rallied on Saturday to earn the program's 22nd CCIW Championship. Wheaton won five of the six head-to-head matches in singles play between the Thunder and the Vikings in singles play today. Wheaton also one head to matchup with Augustana in doubles action today.

The conference tournament uses a system that combines the regular standings with points earned from this weekend's tournament. Based on the conference's system Wheaton finished with 26 points to finish first, Augustana concluded with 25 points in second place, Carthage finished third with 20 points, North Central tallied 19 points in fourth place, Millikin finished fifth with 14 points, Carroll had 13 points in sixth place, Illinois Wesleyan finished seventh with eight points, North Park and Elmhurst tied for eighth with five points each.

Thunder head coach Jane Nelson commented on her team, "So proud of the team. We have talked all Fall about putting ourselves in a position to win the conference championship. Every player on our roster played a role in this win. Everyone came to practice daily and pushed each other to get better. It was a real battle with Augustana today. They have a very good team. We played really well under pressure and came from behind to win the title. Our two senior captains, Claire Browning and Nicole Freeman won all of their matches today in singles and doubles and really led the team. We refused to lose."

SATURDAY RECAP
Claire Dibble rallied to win the conference title at No. 3 singles. Dibble defeated Michaela Magee of Augustana 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 in the championship match.

Nicole Freeman won the CCIW Championship at No. 4 singles. Freeman was a 6-3, 6-3 victor against Augustana's Lilly Schoeck, the top seed at No. 4 singles.

Thunder freshman Abygale Ahn was a 6-1, 6-2 victor against Augustana's Lauren Oda to win the conference championship at No. 5 singles. 

Wheaton's fourth conference championship in singles play was won by Bethany Hoogerheide at No. 6 singles. She defeated Augustana's Kalli Majewski 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 in their championship match.

Augustana's Zeana Badawi defeated Wheaton's Emme Lindquist 6-3, 6-2 in their matchup in the championship match at No. 2 singles.

Claire Browning won her matchup in the third-place match at No. 1 singles. She defeated Carroll's Grace Krueger 8-1. 

Dibble and Freeman won the CCIW Championship at No. 2 doubles as the duo defeated Ramsey and Anderson of Carthage, 8-2 in the championship match. 

Lindquist and Hoogerheide won a conference title in doubles play as they teamed to earn an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles against the Augustana team of Majewski and Abbott.

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Browning and Ahn paired for an 8-4 victory in the third place match against the Carthage team of Apolstoli and Ptak.

FRIDAY RECAP
Emme Lindquist won her semifinal match at No. 2 singles Thursday. Lindquist was a 6-3, 6-0 victor against Carthage's Jen Ptak. Lindquist will face Augustana's Zeana Badawi, the top seed, tomorrow in the championship match at No. 2 singles.

Claire Dibble advanced to the championship match at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Carthage's Samantha Ramsey on Friday in the semifinals. Dibble will play No. 1 seed Michaela Magee of Augustana on Saturday in the championship match at No. 3 singles.

No. 2 seed Nicole Freeman was a 6-1, 6-1 victor in Friday's semifinal at No. 4 singles against Millikin's Danielle Beard. Freeman will face No. 1 seed Lily Schoeck of Augustana on Saturday in the championship match at No. 4 singles.

Thunder freshman Abygale Ahn, the top seed in the bracket for No. 5 singles, advanced to the championship match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against North Central's Morgan House on Friday. Ahn will face Augustana's Lauren Oda, the No. 2 seed on Saturday in the championship match.

Top seed Bethany Hoogerheide was a 6-0, 6-3 victor on Friday in her semifinal match at No. 6 singles against Carthage's Sierra Sonnemaker. Hoogerheide faces Augustana's Kalli Majewski, the No. 2 seed, on Saturday in the championship match at No. 6 singles.

Claire Browning was an 8-4 victor in her match in the play-in bracket at No. 1 singles against North Central's Hannah Hougland. Browning will face Carroll's Grace Krueger tomorrow in the third-place match.

Wheaton's No. 2 doubles team of Dibble and Freeman earned an 8-1 victory in their semifinal match against North Central's Linsy Jante and Katie McGraw on Friday. Dibble and Freeman will face Carthage's Samantha Ramsey and Rachel Anderson on Saturday in the championship match at No. 2 doubles.

The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of Lindquist and Hoogerheide earned an 8-2 victory on Friday in the semifinal round against Carthage's Nia Pham and Sierra Sonnemaker. Lindquist and Hoogerheide will compete in the championship match at No. 3 doubles on Saturday against the Augustana tandem of Kalli Majewski and Leraaen Abbott.

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Browning and Ahn dropped an 8-6 matchup against Augustana's Zeana Badawi and Annie Timm on Friday in the semifinals. Browning and Ahn will compete in the playback bracket on Saturday.

THURSDAY RECAP
Wheaton's Emme Lindquist won her first round match in the bracket at No. 2 singles as she picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Carroll's Maya Gaedtke. Lindquist takes on Carthage's Jen Ptak in the semifinals at No. 2 singles Friday when play resumes.

Claire Dibble defeated Carroll's Carolyn Merkatoris 6-0, 6-1 in their matchup at No. 3 singles. Dibble faces Samantha Ramsey of Carthage in the semifinals on Friday.

In the bracket at No. 4 singles, Wheaton's Nicole Freeman defeated Elmhurst's Lindsey McAuliffe, 6-0, 6-1 in the opening round. Freeman will take on Millikin's Danielle Beard in a semifinal matchup on Friday.

Top seed Bethany Hoogerheide was a 6-0, 6-0 winner against Elmhurst's June Bering at No. 6 singles. Hoogerheide faces Carthage's Sierra Sonnemaker when action resumes on Friday. 

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Browning and Ahn earned an 8-1 first-round win against the Illinois Wesleyan tandem of Ashely Mohr and Rebecca Rochacz. Browning and Ahn take on Augustana's Zeana Badawi and Annie Timm Friday in the semifinals at No. 1 doubles.

Dibble and Freeman earned an 8-1 win in the first round against North Park's No. 2 doubles team of Lisa Viuhkonen and Kendra Belisle. Dibble and Freeman return to action on Friday when the face North Central duo of Linsy Jante and Katie McGraw in the semis.

The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of Lindquist and Hoogerheide earned an 8-2 victory in the opening round against Elmhurst's Lindsey McAuliffe and Bailey Ekstrand. Lindquist and Hoogerheide take on Carthage's Nia Pham and Sierra Sonnemaker.
