Kenosha, Wis. - The Wheaton Thunder women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season Friday afternoon with a 7-2 victory at Carthage College. The Thunder remain in conference play on Saturday with a league matchup at Carroll University.

The Thunder won two of the three doubles matchups on Friday afternoon at Carthage. The No. 2 doubles team of Sara Magnuson and Nicole Freeman won an 8-2 matchup against Carthage's Natalie Favia and Nia Pham. Emma Westwick and Bethany Hoogerheide paired for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles against Maria Salerno and Hannah Haeberle.

Magnuson was a 6-0, 6-2 victor at No. 2 singles against Favia. Claire Browning won a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 decision against Sam Ramsey at No. 3 singles and Claire Dibble picked up a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Salerno at No. 4 singles. Freeman bested Pham 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Hoogerheide picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles against Faelan O'Shaughnessy for the guests.
