Chicago, Ill. - The Wheaton track and field teams competed at University of Chicago's "Windy City Rumble" over the weekend. The Thunder women's track and field team finished second in the 10-team field.
University of Chicago's women's team finished first with 219.5 points, Wheaton scored 84.5 points in second place, Aurora finished third with 81 points, Hope College placed fourth with 73 points, Loyola-Chicago was fifth with 62 points, Beloit College scored 48 points in sixth place, Chicago State took seventh place with 36 points, UIC scored 22 points in eighth place, Calumet-St. Joseph finished ninth with four points and Elmhurst finished 10th with three points.
Sophomore Marissa Heath (PICTURED LEFT) finished first out of 24 women in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.68-seconds.
The women's 4X400-meter relay team of Rose Favino, Brianna Hawthorne, Heath and Johnson finished first out of 12 relay squads with a first-place time of 4:07.91.Â
Katie Lindquist won the women's high jump with an effort of 1.63-meters. Â
Thunder sophomore Favor Ezewuzie placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.97-second and she posted a time of 9.36-seconds in 60-meter hurdles to place third in the finals of that event. She recorded a leap of 5.16-meters in the long jump to finish third.Â
Freshman Hannah Roeske won the one-mile run in 5:01.49. Erika Johnson placed third in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:19.25.Â
Senior Nicole Kitchen placed fourth in the women's pentathlon with 2,742 points in the multi-event competition.
Wheaton returns to action next Friday at the North Central College Invitational in Naperville.
