Rock Island, Ill. - The Wheaton women's tennis team (9-1, 7-1 CCIW) suffered its first loss of the 2018-19 season on Saturday. Augustana (9-0, 8-0 CCIW) defeated the Thunder 6-3 in the final regular season match of the fall for the Thunder.

Wheaton's No. 3 doubles team of Bethany Hoogerheide and Emma Westwick earn a victory for the Thunder with an 8-3 victory against Augustana's Leraaen Abbott and Morgan Bullen.

Sara Magnuson and Claire Dibble picked up victories for the Thunder in singles competition. Magnuson earned a 6-1, 4-6, 7-5 victory against Augustana's Annie Timm at No. 2 singles. Dibble was a 6-0, 6-4 victor at No. 4 singles against Madeline Lombardi.

Wheaton, the defending CCIW Women's Tennis Champion, returns to the Quad Cities next weekend for the 2018 CCIW Women's Tennis Championships at Quad City Tennis Club in Moline, Illinois.
