GAME STATS St. Louis, Mo. – The Wheaton volleyball team opened up its participation in the Washington University/ASICS National Invite on Friday with a match against Wittenberg University (3-1). The Tigers,
ranked fifth in this week's AVCA Division III Coaches Poll, defeated Wheaton 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-14).

Brittany Smith noted following the contest, "Once again, we competed tightly with a nationally ranked program for a set before our focus and execution waned. However each match we see more and more improvement and understanding in the team, and I can't wait to see the impact of these competitive experiences."
Senior
Andy DeMoss led the Thunder with five kills in the match and sophomore
Shelby Knowles added four kills.
Sara Reiskytl,
Lindsay Stein and
Hannah Japp each tallied three kills. Sophomore setter
Ashley Torok had a team-high nine assists. Knowles and
Kelli Manning each collected 10 digs for the Thunder and Stein recorded four total blocks.
Wheaton (1-4) will take on 12
th-ranked Washington University-St. Louis on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The Thunder will conclude its participation in the tournament at 12:30 p.m. against Southwestern University (Texas).
