Decatur, Ill. -- The 2024-25 season drew to a close for the Wheaton women's golf team this weekend, as two players traveled down to central Illinois to take part in Millikin University's "Take Back the Night" Challenge. The Thunder did not register a team score in the nine-squad competition that was eventually won by DePauw University.
Sophomores
Molly Holbert and
Abby Smith represented the Wheaton program on Friday and Saturday's 53-player leaderboard, with the tournament's two rounds taking place at South Side Country Club yesterday and Red Tail Run Golf Club today.
Smith carded a first round score of 96 on Friday and shot a 101 on Saturday to finish her second spring season with a weekend total of 197. Holbert
(pictured left) registered a mark of 107 in yesterday's opening round, but she lowered this tally by seven strokes this morning with a second-round 100 to enter the clubhouse on a mark of 207.

Smith, Holbert, and their Thunder teammates will now enter the offseason routine and can look forward to more competition in the 2025-26 campaign beginning in September.
