Wheaton, Ill. – Mike Schauer ('93), Athletics Director at Wheaton College, has announced changes in personnel for Wheaton's women's and men's golf programs. Paul Craig has announced that he is stepping down immediately as head coach for both programs.
Schauer has named Dr.
Kelly Vazquez as head coach of the Wheaton women's golf team.
Jonny Tink will serve as the head coach of the Thunder men's golf program for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year. Schauer says of the changes, "I am excited that we have split the position for both programs so that we have a dedicated coach for each team."

Dr.
Kelly Vazquez (PICTURED LEFT) served as the assistant coach for the Wheaton women's golf team during their fall season, beginning in August. She competed for four years as a member of the women's golf team at nearby North Central College, where she developed a deep understanding of the game and demonstrated leadership as the team's varsity captain. She was named to the CCIW Academic All-Conference Team three-consecutive seasons, beginning in 2014. She was also named to the National Women's Golf Coaches Association (NWGCA) All-American Scholar Team in those same years. In recognition of her outstanding leadership and service, Vazquez received the North Central College Servant Leadership Award in 2016.
In addition to her role as head women's golf coach, Dr. Vazquez is a member of the faculty at Wheaton College. She joined the faculty at Wheaton as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Engineering in Fall of 2023.
Jonny Tink (PICTURED RIGHT) has served as an assistant coach for the Wheaton men's golf team since 2018. He played four seasons of golf at Wheaton from 2009-13. As a senior in 2012-13 he was named to the Division III PING All-Central Region Team. Tink finished second at the 2013 CCIW Men's Golf Championships, earning All-CCIW recognition that season. In his senior year, he won consecutive tournaments at the Cres Creek Collegiate Invite and Taylor Invitational and was medalist at the Carthage Spring Invitational.
