The Wheaton College men's and women's golf team recently announced the completion of a state of the art indoor training facility located in the North Hall on the college campus. The facility was completed in January of 2020.
“Coach Tink, Coach Martin and I are very grateful to President Ryken, Athletics Director Julie Davis, and our administration for allowing this project to be done.," said head coach Paul Craig. "This renovation gives our student athletes a venue to get quality practice and instruction and is a showplace facility for our sport.”
"Another special thanks to Randy Norbeck and his team for getting this done!," continued Craig.
The indoor training facility features two separate areas - a short game area for working on putting stroke mechanics, equipped with Puttview. The other area features an AboutGolf simulator to work on full swing drills and instructions.
"We are also very thankful to the many families and friends of Wheaton Golf for for providing much of the funding for the Wheaton Golf Training Facility," Craig mentions. "We're incredibly appreciative of their generosity."
The facility features state of the art artificial turf installed by GroTurf, who have worked with the Chicago Cubs as well as the Wake Forest University Golf Team and many others. AboutGolf is one of the top simulator companies in the country and the augmented reality putting system simulator was installed by Puttview.
Wheaton golf teams have access to the facility 14 hours a day through a computerized lock system in each of the rooms.
