The Wheaton men's golf team closes out its fall season at the Lewis Flyers Intercollegiate

Wyatt Brown led the way for the Thunder at this week's tournament
Lemont, Ill. -- The Fall 2025 schedule concluded for the Thunder men's golf team as Wheaton finished its participation in the Flyers Fall Intercollegiate hosted by Division II program Lewis University on Monday and Tuesday. The event involved three 18-hole rounds over the two days of play, and 15 teams from various conferences and divisions took part in the competition. Wheaton placed 13th in this week's tournament and were led by junior golfer Wyatt Brown, who secured a Top 20 finish in the 81-player field.

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside emerged as the tournament champion after a busy two days of competition, carding a combined team score of 900 to place first in the 15-squad standings. Another Thunder program, Trine University, was the runner-up on a three-round mark of 916. The Wheaton Thunder registered a two-day total of 978 to come in 13th place, two shots behind the hosting Flyers' 'B' squad and five strokes ahead of another Division II side, William Jewell College, in 14th.

Five Wheaton golfers took part in the squad's final fall competition on Monday and Tuesday. The hometown player Brown enjoyed the best outing of the bunch, posting a two-day tally of 234 (+18) to tie for 17th on the individual leaderboard. The third-year golfer put in strong performances of 74 (+2) and 75 (+3) in Monday's first two rounds to carve out a spot in the top ten of the solo standings before losing ground in Tuesday's final stretch with a round score of 85. But even this late dip did not prevent him from earning a high placement in his last event of 2025.

Fellow upperclassman Tannen Reed wrapped up his penultimate semester of collegiate competition by tying for 57th place at this week's tournament via a total score of 248. The Tulsa native carded a 79 (+7) in the first round and matched Brown's score of 85 this afternoon. Freshman Ryan Soe ended his first fall season with the Orange and Blue on a three-round mark of 252. He also put in his best 18 holes of work in Monday's opening round, shooting an even 80 (+8) to begin the competition.

Luke Pringle concluded the first half of his debut season with the program by shooting a 255 tournament total that was highlighted by a mark of 81 (+9) on Tuesday, saving his best outing for last. Baylor Brogan carded a two-day score of 261 and stayed consistent across Monday and Tuesday's second and third rounds, registering marks of 84 (+12) on both sets of 18 holes.

Having completed their fall slate, the Thunder players will now head into an extended winter offseason and will return to the links in March/April 2026.
