Arabella Hall ended her strong freshman year with another team-leading performance
Wheaton, Ill. -- The final event of the 2023-24 women's golf season arrived on Thursday afternoon, as Wheaton stayed in town to take on the Elmhurst Bluejays in a dual match at Cantigny Golf. Three Thunder golfers took part in today's competition, while seven Elmhurst players participated, four of whom had their scores counted towards the official team totals. When play was complete, the Wheaton trio had registered a combined tally of 289. Elmhurst's team posted a combined score of 343, albeit with one more score factored in than Wheaton's total.
Arabella Hall concluded her strong spring season with a T-first finish in the individual standings.
Hall's team-leading round of 83 (+11) was good for a joint-first placement atop the ten-player leaderboard on Thursday, meaning that the freshman has carded the top score for the Thunder in all five events this spring. It also marked Hall's second first-place finish of the season after topping the field in the tri-match against Benedictine and North Park two weeks ago.
Lizzy Stone shot a 92 (+20) in Thursday's competition to place sixth in the field, and
Abby Smith brought her inaugural season on the team to an end with a score of 114 as the third member of Wheaton's competing trifecta today.
With the 2023-24 campaign now behind them, the Thunder women's golfers will head into the summer break before beginning a new season in September.
