Colleen Smith has been named a CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week in women's volleyball, earning the conference's weekly award on offense. She helped lead Wheaton to a 2-1 record last week. The selection marks the second time this season that Smith has picked up the CCIW's weekly recognition, also picking up the honor on September 14.
Smith averaged 3.5 kills per set last week as she recorded 41 kills in 13 sets with a .293 attack percentage in Wheaton's three matches. Smith impressed in Wheaton's 3-2 victory at Millikin as she helped the Thunder remain undefeated in CCIW play. She registered a team-high 14 kills against the Big Blue, with only two errors on 41 attempts, posting a .293 attack percentage. She also added nine digs. On Friday in a 3-1 Thunder victory against UW-Oshkosh, Smith had 17 kills. She had just one error against the Titans on 38 attempts, posting a .421 attack percentage. She added three service aces and four total blocks in the win against UW-Oshkosh. Smith had 10 kills on Saturday in Wheaton's match against No. 21 UW-Stevens Point.
Wheaton hosts Augustana tonight at 7:00 p.m. The Thunder travel to Elmhurst on Friday night at 7 p.m.
