GAME STATS Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's soccer team made of the most of its opportunities on Saturday night, rolling to a 4-1 victory over 25
th-ranked St. Norbert in the final match of the Bob Baptista Invitational. Wheaton finishes the weekend with nine goals in their two victories while surrendering just one goal against. St. Norbert finishes the weekend 1-1. Wheaton will head east next weekend with road matches at Ohio Wesleyan and Kenyon.

St. Norbert controlled the run of the play for much of the match, owning a 21-9 shot advantage and a 12-6 edge in shots on goal. Staying on through a hard collision in the first minute of the match,
Hasten Biddlecome made nine saves and allowed one goal. Ben Holtzen allowed three goals and made one save in the first half for the Knights with Matt Pilewski allowing a goal and making a save in the second half.

A physical affair throughout the night, tonight's match featured 41 fouls and nine yellow cards. Wheaton owned a 3-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

With St. Norbert tilting the field in their favor early in the game, Wheaton broke free on a counter opportunity in the 12
th minute, earning a corner kick. After the Knights cleared the initial kick,
Dillon Etter sent the ball back into the box where it was flicked on by
Peter Whallon to
Ryan Melgar who tapped it home (
VIDEO) from the in front of the net to give Wheaton the initial lead. Minutes later, Whallon cashed on from short distance (
VIDEO) off a well-placed centering pass from
Will Woodfin to push the lead to 2-0.

Wheaton added one more tally just before the end of the first half when
Michael Groza buried his second goal of the season on a long left-footed attempt (
VIDEO) with just 43 seconds remaining to push Wheaton out to a 3-0 halftime advantage.

Biddlecome (PICTURED LEFT) shined in goal for the Thunder, repelling the Knights until the Thunder added to their lead in the 63
rd minute when
Stafford Dowling converted a penalty kick for his second goal of the season. St. Norbert failed to convert on a penalty kick in the 73
rd minute and flourish in the 75
th minute was turned away by an athletic save on the goal line by the Thunder defense while Biddlecome scrambled back to the goal line to turn away a follow-up attempt.

A nice long pass out of the middle opened up Seth Boldt for his third goal of the season, cutting Wheaton's lead to 4-1 in the 77
th minute. The Knights continued to push as the match closed but were turned away by the Thunder, who closed out the 4-1 victory.
